Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
People with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) experience recurrent, unwelcome thoughts, ideas, or feelings (obsessions). They feel compelled to perform something repeatedly in order to get rid of the ideas (compulsions). Repeated actions can seriously hamper a person's day-to-day tasks and social interactions.
Examples include hand washing, cleaning, checking on objects, counting, and other mental acts.
Symptoms
Examples of typical obsessional thinking content:
Fear of environmental or human contamination
Troubling sexual ideas or pictures
Religious ideas or worries which are frequently blasphemous
Fear of engaging in violence or suffering damage (self or loved ones)
extreme fear that something is incomplete extreme care about symmetry - order - or accuracy
Fear of misplacing or ignoring something crucial
